Any regular reader of this blog will have observed repeated concerns regarding the state of funding of the Family Courts.

A further cost cutting exercise has now been implemented.  Notwithstanding the fact that parties are generally required to pay a filing fee with their Divorce Application, a Divorce Order will not now be automatically sent to a party or their solicitor by a Court.  It will be necessary to within three months of the divorce becoming final a party or their lawyer must contact the National Inquiry Centre and ask for a copy to be posted to them.  If a party waits more than three months they will need to pay an additional filing fee.

In addition, the Court will not make available for parties interpreters.  Parties will need to make arrangements for their own interpreters to be present.
