The Family Court is overburdened. The controversial Family Court merger Bill will not resolve that overload.

While sledging lawyers seems to be the favourite game of politicians and journos alike, there are avenues that can practically can be undertaken to assist litigants (short of the Courts being appropriately funded or resourced as they have not been over successive Governments).
Mediation can be utilised for children’s and property or financial matters. Properly prepared, a mediation can resolve in weeks what might otherwise take years to conclude in a Family Court process, saving years and a lot of money!
